  • Cheer On a Greece Hometown Star in the NCAA Championship

Greece residents have a special reason to tune into tonight’s NCAA Women’s College Cup National Championship. Hometown standout Wrianna Hudson, a 2024 Athena High School graduate, is making headlines on the national stage. Hudson, now a sophomore forward at Florida State University, scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute of Friday’s National Semifinal against Texas Christian University (TCU). Her clutch performance marked her team-leading 14th goal of the season, her third of the postseason, and her fourth game-winner. Her contribution lifted the No. 3-seeded Seminoles to a 1–0 victory over No. 2–seeded TCU at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, sending FSU to the National Championship match for the eighth time in program history and the fifth time in the last eight years. Florida State will face Stanford in the 2025 NCAA Women’s College Cup National Championship, broadcast tonight on ESPNU. If you’re looking to root for a hometown hero, you won’t want to miss it.
