Water - Lead Testing Results

  • The Greece Central School District is committed to the safety and well-being of our students and staff. That’s why, out of an abundance of caution, we voluntarily began testing all of our water sources for elevated lead levels in June 2016, months before doing so was state mandated. Since that time, more than 3,000 water samples have been tested and any fixtures that tested above the mandated threshold of 15 parts per billion (ppb) have been remediated.

Currently, all potable water sources in all 17 Greece schools meet established "lead-free" standards. The chart below will be updated as needed. We will continue to monitor and evaluate our water supply and any newly installed fixtures.

    * Chart indicates the number of drinking water outlets that have recorded elevated levels of lead (above 15 ppb). Outlets with elevated levels of lead are taken out of service and remediated and then retested before being brought back into service.
